Adam’s Blessings Restored to Us

And you shall return every man unto his possession. -Leviticus 25:10

What did Adam have before the Fall? He not only had relationship with God, but he also enjoyed fellowship with God. Adam had walked and talked with God in the cool of the day. But after he fell, God came looking for him, calling, “Adam, where are you?” (Gen. 3:9.) Adam answered, “I hid myself.” (v.10.) Their fellowship had been broken.

What about our fellowship with God? Once we are born again, the Bible tells us to “come boldly before the throne of grace” (Heb. 4:16). We can talk to God, not just as servants or as friends but as sons and daughters. We are brought back into the fellowship with the Father that Adam lost.

Adam also possessed supernatural intelligence and memory before the Fall. God brought every living creature to him, and Adam named every one of them. (Gen. 2:19,20) Not only did Adam name the creatures, but he also remembered what he named them!

When you are born again, that capacity for supernatural intelligence is given back to you. First Corinthians 2:16 says, “We have the mind of Christ.” God has given you the Holy Ghost, who Jesus promised would “bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).

Adam’s needs were abundantly met. God saw that it wasn’t good for him to be alone, so He formed Eve. He also showed Adam where all the gold was buried. (Gen. 2:11.) God wanted to make sure Adam was abundantly taken care of.

God wants to meet our needs as well. The Bible says, “Though [Jesus] was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you, through his poverty, might be rich [or abundantly supplied]” (2 Cor. 2:8:9). So through Jesus, we are restored back to our original position in God. There we can enjoy fellowship with the Father, the benefits of a sound mind and every need abundantly met.

CONFESSION:

God wants to restore to me all that Adam possessed before he sinned in the Garden. In Jesus I have fellowship with God, a sound mind and everything I need.
