Making Your Point of Contact

When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. –Luke 4:40

Jesus was the will of God in action. He constantly showed people that God wanted them healed.

God wants you healed, and once that truth is lodged in your own heart, your next step is to make a point of contact. This “point of contact” refers to the moment you begin to release your faith for your healing. After finding out God’s perfect will in the matter, you make your petition: “Thank God, I believe I receive my healing. Thank God, I’m healed by the stripes of Jesus.”

A point of contact can be made in two basic ways. One way is through prayer according to Mark 11:24: “Whatsoever thing you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them.” Another way is through the laying on of hands: “In my name…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17,18).

When a person makes his point of contact, at that moment he begins to believe he receives his healing. He may not feel it or see it, but he still believes he has received his answer. You may hear him say, “I believe I received three days ago when I prayed” or “I believe I received yesterday when hands were laid on me.”

“Do you feel any different?” Someone might ask.

“No, but that doesn’t make any difference. I believe I received!”

That’s the confession of faith!

CONFESSION:

I know God’s will, so I pray, believing I receive what I desire through my own prayer of faith. Another way I receive from my Father is through the laying on of hands. When hands are laid on me or I pray, my healing begins at that point of contact.
